A group chat that became a movement.
Like a lot of good ideas, Furlo was born out of a simple problem. As an apartment resident with a dog and two cats, the everyday logistics of pet ownership in a busy building are real — who lets the dog out when you're stuck in traffic? Who tops up the food bowl when work runs late? Who checks in when you're out of town?
The answer turned out to be right down the hall. A group chat was created among neighbors with pets — a casual, no-pressure space where anyone could post a quick request and whoever was free would step up. It worked remarkably well. Pets got looked after. Neighbors became friends. The building felt like a community.
That group chat had a name — and a personality. It was called WEOAS: the Watching Each Others Animals Society. Unofficial, unstructured, and completely organic. But it worked so well that the idea became impossible to ignore: what if every pet-friendly apartment building could have this?
The Watching Each Others Animals Society
WEOAS was never an app or a product — it was just neighbors being neighbors. Furlo is our way of giving every apartment community the same thing: a structured, trusted, easy way to look out for each other's pets. The spirit of WEOAS, built for everyone.
The inspiration behind Furlo.
The founder lives with a dog and two cats — which means navigating three different personalities, three different care routines, and the constant reality of needing a trusted neighbor on standby. That firsthand experience shapes everything about how Furlo is built: practical, low friction, and genuinely useful for real pet owners in real apartments.
TJ
DogTurning 10 years young this year
A husky mix with suspiciously short legs. Never barks, never howls — but sheds like he's wearing eight coats at all times. The reason Furlo exists.
Huxley
CatThe gentleman of the apartment
Always dressed in a suit, never quite figured out how to button the top button. Skittish at first but wildly affectionate once he trusts you. Has a purr so aggressive it occasionally makes him cough.

CatThe social butterfly
The sweetest, most outgoing cat you'll ever meet. Will climb into your lap uninvited, request pets on demand, do parkour off the walls at 2am, and accept butt pats as currency.
To make every pet-friendly building
feel like a community.
Apartment living can be anonymous. Furlo changes that — starting with the one thing most residents already have in common. When neighbors look out for each other's pets, they start looking out for each other too.
What we believe.
Community first
Furlo works because neighbors trust neighbors. We build every feature around strengthening that trust, not replacing it.
Pets deserve better
No pet should go hungry or unwalked because life got busy. Furlo makes sure there's always someone nearby who can help.
Simple by design
If it takes more than a few taps, we've overcomplicated it. Furlo should feel as easy as sending a text to a neighbor.
Built for property managers too
A thriving pet community is good for everyone. We give managers the tools to activate it and the data to prove its value.
